Someone hit my car & left a dent while it was park
I went to Socal over the weekend, I rode with my friends so I parked my car at their house in a fair decent neighborhood. I got home yesterday, and today while I went to get gas, I noticed that someone hit my car. Someone must have back into my car or something. They left a nice dent, paint mark, and scratch in my left door. I was wondering if I should report this to insurance or not? Do you guys know how much it will cost to fix too? My deductible is 500. From what I remember people say that if I report this to insurance, my insurance will increase a lot which is not what i want right now. And lastly, which body shop around the Newark/Fremont/Union City area would you guys recommend me to take my car too?

Your insurance doesn't go up! It falls under comprehensive (theft, vandalistm, hit&runs) and has its own deductible. My car has been keyed and egged and I had this all redone . However my deductible is 100$. It was 500$ but I decided to pay the extra 26$ a year to make it 100!

when you call in for a hit and run to your insurance, do they require a police report?
