Getting a hardtop is not really a solution for those of us who actually enjoy going topless which is the MAIN reason I think people buy s2000's correct? haha

I went to Premire Upholstery on El Camino Real, and they quoted me $250. The $250 job is for: (1) 1-inch rip on the drivers side, (1) forming rip on the passengerside, (2) forming rip in the rear [the common wear and tear] place in the rears.
All those places get patches from the inside, and the ripped areas get stiching on the outside. Labor and Parts all included for $250. Same day service.
What do you guys think about that price quote?
Granted... I could just ask them to patch up the drivers and passenger side rips, and it would be cheaper... but for future precautions, the backs do seem tempting to attend to.

Wow $250 I was hoping they would be able to do my forming rips in the rear for about $100
Did they mention after the fix the forming rip if they were going to do anything to prevent it from happening more? (padding on the frame or something)

Well, they might be able to accomediate your $100 for the rear. But I am also getting (2) front rips patched up as well.
Also, he mentioned once those patches were in place over the forming rips, it would eliminate those from becoming tears. Because of the way the convertible top retracts, those patches will be an extra layer of protection. So in the long run, the patches will have to wear through before wearing the top.

San Jose has both nice and questionable areas so guess it's just a matter of luck sometimes....
Hope you get it replaced since any repair job is noticeable I would think.

I agree about the hardtop. Nice looking as it is, wouldn't be able to just drop the top whenever I want.
