Ooooo taking off a top sounds like fun

Seriously I wouldn't mind tackling this job. I'll evenutally have to do this to my car so a little bit more experience wouldn't hurt.

not 100% sure...you could ask for an estimate and see....if it $500 it'll be cheaper than any other option....but you won't get a glass top
