Default Soft top anti-rip mod?

Hello S2KIers,

I PM Billman250, but figured he's too swamped to answer back. All his threads list the soft top anti-rip mod, but there's no documentation of what's actually done. Out of curiosity, I went and looked to see if my soft top frame was deburred or not.

Here's some photos:

Looks like the previous owner has answered this issue. Is there anywhere else on the frame I can modify/smooth/deburr?

Thanks Touge... I just bought a few products from Modifry. Should have purchased those too.

Also, has anyone, while lowering the top, had the latch snag the striker plate?

To my knowledge (correct me if wrong someone...) your photo does not show the frame area that normally needs fixing. Or at least not on my car. Not sure what that repair is about in the photo.

There are some bar ends close to that location that can be very sharp and burred. I assume Billman is referring to de-burring the bar ends. Mine were razor sharp and had started to cause a small tear, about 1/2" long about 5 years ago. I had the tear professionally patched from the inside. Then I smoothed the problem areas on the bars. Voila! No further problems since. PM me and I'll send you the Honda Technical Bulletin showing the fix.

Those Modifry straps are great too. My originals were shot by 3 years.
