Go to a similarly populated area that has no car smog laws and look around and you'll be glad those laws are there.

Well, I'm glad the police are doing their job. All laws need to be enforced, and it sounds like they were professional in their investigation; can't ask for more than that.
That said, I wish CA would use actual emissions to determine pass/fail, not just whether everything is stock/OEM/CARB stickered. That would allow you to use aftermarket parts so long as the car didn't emit beyond the legal limit in their testing.

It actually sucks about the one @ 210 San jose ave. I have been there along with 10 friends with swaps, the guy was really nice. However he did not put another car on while he did it. who knows what his method is, but he is a really cool guy.
