Having drove around in an FD for about 6months...I can say this about it. Be ready to change every 3000 miles, filling up on gas is sooner than the S2K, ride will be firmer , and yes the rotory doesn't last long. If you're ready for that then do it. As long as it has an Aftermarket downpipe, alum radiator, and upgraded shocks, then it'll last somewhat more than 100k miles. Never starve it for fuel. Always fill up before 1/4tank left. Other than that since it is still twin turbo, the boost solenoid might fail at times. That's why a lot of them switch to a single turbo setup.

Hope this helps...

congrats Jae on getting an NSX..NA1 or 2?

IMO an s2000 is worth more than an FD. if you really want the FD just buy it from your friend

it has a downpipe, koyo radiator, coil overs, piping, AST, a lot of the reliability stuff. don't think itll be firmer than my AP1 though.. i am just going to wait until i see the car first hand and take the test drive.

lol FD= MONEY PIT.. and not in a good way!

friend had a 500hp+ single turbo fd.

ran good when it choose to..

your call.. its my .02 cents
in short, i'd say pass and don't give it another thought.

if you need to hear/see something a little more concrete & elaborate, here you go. i concur 100% w/basically every point dude said. SEVERAL of my friends have owned rotary mazdas dating all the way back to the RX-2 & 3 on up thru the FD's.

really, if you need to solicit opinions, you more than likely already know what you should/shouldn't do.

ultimately, you'll have no one to blame but yourself later on. if you can live by your decision, go ahead.

well I've done some work to both cars and have driven both of them. NSX > FD anytime. The FD boost is cool. NSX has a higher exotic lux look than the FD. I would take an NSX over an FD just for relability factors alone.

I would definitely give the FD the edge in handling. Especially for auto-x!
