I have my parent's old BMW that I drive around in crowded parking lots in SF. Its dieing out though and they need a new beater. My dad got pissed when someone put a ding in my S2K. LOL

No one never gets satisfied with what they have. Especially when you are young. Just doesn't know how to appreciate what they have.
im all with hiro on that statement...sometimes i forget that im 18 and drive a s2000, especially since im 18 i have to be humble about it.

I have no experience whatsoever with the FD cars so what I'm going to say is based on my turbo experiene with other cars and the s2k of course.
Any used cars have risk and buying a modded used turbo car is even riskier. At one point I was going to buy a MKIV Supra but it's hard to find one that's either cleanly modded or stock. Rotary engines are notarious for being a money pit and you won't recover any costs from it for sure. As for keepin it and then selling it later, I'm pretty sure the s2k will hold its value far better!
The FD has a very narrow limited used market, even smaller than an s2000 due to the turbo motor. I would say keep the s2k and supercharge it or otherwise just get an NSX later.
I know many people here will shoot me for it but I personally do NOT think the NSX is an upgrade from an s2000....it's an old car and is no faster than a blown s2k and look wise it's purely judgemental.....

I've been considering the FD and NSX for a while, almost interchangeably. Stock for stock, the performance seems damn similar. Now, when you take into account the amount of money it takes to make these cars absolute monsters, the FD would be cheaper overall to get the performance we all dream of. Modified the FD would be the better candidate for money and performance. The NSX is more expensive in every respect (even if the rotary needs to be rebuilt) to make it go faster but you're paying for the RELIABILITY and HASSLE-FREE nature of the car.
So I like to think of the stock cars as being almost exactly the same in terms of performance and both are gorgeous cars to me and I'd be happy with either of them. But you need to consider what you want more out of the car in the long term, performance or reliability.
Keep in mind that stock for stock, the S2000's performance isn't too far off the NSX or FD. I've seen good drivers bring out the best in almost all kinds of cars so trust me when I say that in non-professional hands the performance is stunning for any of these cars. If you're doing it only for looks and feel, I can't help you there. Good luck with your decision!
