... I hope at least they get the old lady at fault, so it's coming out of her insurance.

Thanks for the well wishes. Was working on the car today. Got pretty far then ran up on a snag... When the air bags deploy the seat belts lock and so does the soft top. Anyone know how to reset the SPS so I can move forward?

SPS? or do you mean SRS?
there are multiple threads out there to reset a standard acura/honda SRS.

pretty much get a paperclip and bend it into a "U" (adjusting needed from my experience)

1. look under the driver's footwell. there should be a small 2-wire plug that is on the bottom right (while laying on your back). unplug that yellow connection.
2. stick the paperclip into the 2 female end pins and turn the key all the way to start. the SRS light will go off.
3. within those 4 seconds of the SRS going off, remove the paperclip. the SRS will light up again.
4. within those 4 seconds of the SRS coming on, re-insert the paperclip. the SRS will go off.
5. within those 4 seconds of the SRS going off, remove the paperclip. the SRS will flash twice, indicating that it has been reset.
6. reconnect that yellow connection right underneath the other wide yellow connection and turn the key to start. SRS light should be gone.

BTW, TIMING IS KEY! i still didn't master this, but it doesn't take me 10 minutes anymore

i hope this answers your question. spent 5 minutes typing it up in a simple text lol

Oh my.. I'm glad you walked away from it. The car is replaceable. Your life isn't. Good luck on your next S!
