Get your food and water ready. The big one is coming!

Yes, I felt this.
Little ones help prevent big ones. We need more of these to release the pent-up tension.

My understanding on the la paloma shake that there were make small ones leading up the big one. Is this not the case?

Cause and effect fallacy.

Mac is right, smaller earthquakes help relieve the pent up stress. That's not to confused with, because there's small earthquakes there won't be a big one. It just means, because there were small ones, the large one (if there is one) is more tame than had there not been smaller quakes. That being said, La Paloma could have been much worse had some of the tension not been released.

I had just woken up like 40 seconds before the quake.. Woke up, kind of drowsy, then as soon as I was alert, the quake hit.. it was weird. Sorta felt like I sensed it coming, woke up, was ready for it, then went back to sleep after it passed. LOL

Little ones don't necessarily prevent or lessen larger ones. In actuality they can cause larger ones. It depends on if the little ones are on different faults and how their stored up energy gets transferred. They could transfer that stored up energy into another fault which in turn could stores that energy.

I don't know anything about La Paloma to know if precursors earthquakes lessen or actually cause a larger fault to give way.

I don't know if my pup woke up before the quake happened.. Maybe she perked up but I wouldn't know since she sleeps downstairs but I'm pretty intuitive and clairvoyant haha
