Serpentine belt change

Serpentine belt change
Just wondering here because in the last few months I've developed a squeal and with my car having nearly 91k on it and belt looking weathered I'm going to just change it. However I'm wondering if I should be replacing the tensioner along with it? I know it's critical when doing the timing belt but I noticed some people have done it while others say that they haven't but with even more mileage than I have. Is it standard protocol to just do it for peace of mind? Or should I be looking for anything in particular to change it? Looks fine by sight but thought I'd ask before I order the parts to do it.

If it's the serpentine belt tensioner you're talking about, check the play of the tensioner by wiggling the belt. If there's like more than a quarter inch of play, then I would say go ahead and replace it. If it feels pretty tight, I don't think you would have to worry. Make sure you wiggle it close to the tensioner.
