Depending what your blue book will be, you get an average of 300 for every 1000. I dontated my 95' Escort Wagon.....they gave me 2k value on the car. So I will probably get around 600 back when I do my taxes. Not exact by any means, but you get the idea.

hmm. interesting. so unless the place I donate to offers me like 3x or more of what I can get selling it (minus the hassle of dealing with buyers, test drives, etc)... it might be worth it to sell it privately.

thanks for the input Sugai. does it matter where you donate it to? how do you select a place to donate it? not sure exactly how this process works.

I'm told that there is a charity that will pay like 1/3rd of the Blue Book up front in cash AND give a receipt for the full Blue Book value of the car. that's a pretty damn good deal.

has anybody heard which charity this is? I was told they advertise on the radio, like on KGO or KCBS?

hey guys, I've received a few PMs regarding possibly selling my CRX. thanks for the interest. I'm not ignoring you, I just need to finish doing some research as to whether I'll donate it, or if I am willing to sell it AS IS for a discounted price.

of course, I'll only sell it if I can make more selling it than I would if I donated it, considering how friggin easy it is to donate.

I'll reply to this thread with a short run-down of some of the things that might need to be addressed for any potential buyers of my CRX. the good news is, it *DID* pass smog without any need of repairs on July 12th, 2004. and it is my daily driver, so it does drive fine. no wrecks, clear title, tracks straight, EXCELLENT fuel economy (of course).

more info later, gotta do my research. thx again for the PMs.
