Default Seatbelt Warranty

Clean title, 2nd owner of an 00' with a billion miles. The driverside belt is frayed, do I just call up any local dealer to have the repair made?

Just bring it to the Honda Dealer. Doesn't matter if it's an S2000,91 Honda Accord, civic etc... safety defects, especially seat-belts are lifetime warranty. Omar(Aww_Shiet) got his I think 95 Honda Accord Sedan rear passenger seatbelt replaced from Honda of Serramonte because it was all loose and wouldn't roll back. I used to sit back there and didn't like it but now it's all replaced with a brand new one.

They really replace seatbelts under a lifetime warranty for safety reasons? Seems like a wear item... I mean... lights are a wear item, but are certainly crucial in safety...

It's much tougher to mod or ruin seat belts, comparatively speaking. They also don't require any upkeep.

So when you bring a seat belt claim to the dealership, they're likely confident you didn't cause it.

There's a law out there on seatbelts.

mine isn't really 'failing its purpose' but it's pretty torn up and it got a lot worse within the last year

if it's torn up as in fraying or whatever, it's covered I think. I'll be stopping by the dealership in the near future, then probably removing it directly after for takatas...
