Default San Mateo County Traffic Court Lawyer...

I got a ticket for a violation of 21461(a), No turn on Red, in Foster City, by the City of Foster City Police. There are two "No Right Turn on Red" signs, one is behind the driver when stopped at the crosswalk, the other was obstructed by traffic on the other side of the freeway on ramp.

Anyone have any lawyer suggestions? Would like to fight this one, gonna do a trial by declaration first, but if that fails, I'm gonna hire a lawyer.

Um, shouldn't you have seen it before you got to the corner?

Whether you pay the $500 to $600 for a lawyer and beat the rap, or pay the fine and increased insurance, yer getting raped either way.

I fought a ticket like this once, and the circumstances were somewhat similar (one sign was too small to read properly at night, and the second sign was partially obscured by some landscaping). As evidence, I took pictures of the signs from the angle where I was positioned while at the stop. I also took some pics from within my car at the intersection to illustrate the difficulty in reading the signs. I handed the pics to the judge during my hearing, and he agreed with me. I didn't need to pay a fine or anything, also I don't recall my insurance going up either. Plus, I guess it helped that the officer who cited me didn't even show up.

Good luck Kit!

BTW, I work in Foster City, and some of the cops out there are jerks...

ticketassasin.com

Read wizdom's post about his ticket. It's a great site.

PS: Another Foster City s2k owner here. Which intersection was it?

Yeah, another S in Foster City here. Which intersection was it? I don't remember ever seeing a No Turn On Red in Foster City.

Gee whiz, we should have a meet. Isn't Beachpark and Edgewater a No Turn On Red when children are present? Foster City School?

I got a recommendation for:

Majeed Samara
660 El Camino Real, Millbrae, CA 94030
(650) 588-7700

I hired him to fight my recent ticket. Won't know how good he really is until I get the outcome.

You just give them a copy of the ticket, and they take care of everything for you. You don't have to send anything in, or appear. Flat fee, $150.
