We were talking about it this afternoon ... Let me do a bit research and maybe set something up this Sunday.
I won't be able to set something up till October. Right now they are ok with the supply and there are a lot of people donating but will need to replenish later. Of course you can go ahead do so instead of waiting.

the residents said they had smelled gas over the past few days. pg&e should have looked into this much sooner.
I don't think pge knew about the smell cause no one reported it.

I work for PG&E and we've been having pretty regular updates about this situation. So far, it doesn't seem like anyone actually called PG&E since they can't find any records of people complaining about a gas leak

Any chance of something shady happening? Like those records never getting recorded or getting destroyed immediatly following the fire?

I was reading earlier that there was an email address or website setup for people to contact if they actually did report to PG&E there was a gas leak. As of yet, not a single person that contacted them was able to say they smelled a gas leak, only hearsay so far.

as far as shady stuff happening, i can vouch that PG&E is actually one of the most honest companies i've ever seen (i used to be an external auditor, so i've seen a LOT of companies). a cover up like that is HIGHLY unlikely. it sucks that there's so much speculation happening now due to the bad rep that PG&E has had in its history, but if it means anything, i think we're doing a pretty good job helping out the community, considering it hasn't been proven whose fault it was. from what i understand, we've been giving away $1000+ gift cards to get people on their feet in the short term as well as putting aside a $100million budget to help fix things. all this still without proven responsibility...

If PG&E states they don't have any records, then the home owners need to get their phone records to show that they called PG&E. At least those records will show the dates they made the call.
