Has had both happen to it. luckily theft replaced parts are still original cr replacements.. minus the airbags..

on the plus side, one of the most desirable colors for the CR & at least it's a roller. has some nice parts too.

It has been thru a lot, and it's all good..if the car was perfect, I wouldn't need to do a build thread anyways haha..plus I like to prove haters wrong anyways. With only 699 produced, not everyone will be kept perfect. In the end I felt I got a great deal for its value. If I don't want to do the build I can always part out the supercharger and hardtop. And roll around in a $6k CR.. As for the color, I'm not a huge fan... It's weird that ppl keep telling me that's desired color, I honestly prefer white or black.. But that's just cuz im a black and white type of dude haha..

My current dilemma is deciding which route I shall go for suspension. The stock cr suspension rides nicely, and after years of stuff lowered cars, a stock firm suspension feels great. But I like to get a lowered aggressive look.

That's an amazing deal. Not feeling the BB CR wing, hopefully you'll turn that back to Apex Blue. Looking forward to seeing what else you'll do to the build

Yea I'm not feeling the spoiler also.. I'll probably have it painted back to apex blue when I drop it off to fix the door/ quarter panel. I'm also debating if I want to go wingless... For some reason, a cr wing just seems a bit ricey to me... It looks as if it's not functional but it does add character while daily driven... It's not as ridiculous as some who drives their jet plane spoilers around

I posted a wingless photoshop of my car a few weeks ago on my Instagram, and the consensus is that it looks strange w/o a wing of any sort. Of course it's a matter of personal taste, as I love the CR wing.

sounds like i missed a pretty nice deal. been thinking about getting another S for track use, but my recent problems w/my leaky, refinished HRE wheels bummed me out. i stopped looking on CL for a couple weeks. i browse it every day looking for stuff to buy. you're welcome. lol seriously, this would've been tempting. the blown diff and busted door/quarter panel aren't huge deals. the car being up in Sac would've been more of problem. i went out to Texas to get my ap2, but my S and the seller were pretty legit. i definitely would've wanted to see this one in person before dealing on it.

i'm not a big fan of Apex Blue, but i think what makes it desirable for most people is that it's a CR exclusive color. all the other ones, incl GPW and BB, are regular s2k colors.

as for the wing, it doesn't look too bad with the BB top. it does stick out, but imo, the CR needs one from both aesthetic and functional standpoints. i'm not one for huge spoilers or kits either, but w/out the spoiler, the car looks like any other S w/a hardtop. i'll take the wing off your hands if you want to sell it though. lol

good luck with it. it'll be a fun project.

Took it out for a drive and a long overdue car wash. This sat outside previous owners house for months...

Swapped over my hub from my SILVERSTONE.. Extended studs for that future BBK and wheel clearance yesterday.

Woke up a little earlier today to work on the smurf... Ended up being a slow day at the shop so I was able to finish up on some parts swap.

Swapped out the 5zigen header for my old PLM, bigger piping, bigger collector = moar powah!!

Plastidipped front and rear emblems to match the black cr 2 tone

downforce Cf side diffusers and wasp front lip protector

Also swapped over the correct airbag for this model year... Still looking for an igniter at this moment, AEM boost and wideband gauges relocated and installed..

very nice! Good job on saving another s2000?

Can you get plates and register your car if it has no airbags?

Thanks... The car is partially registered, I'm still working on this to getting it to pass smog. As far as everything else, it's all done, fees, inspections etc, just missing smog for plates.. For the time being its on a temporary moving permit.. Hopefully it will be plated and rolling with tags by the end of this month.

Visually it looks as if the airbags are equipt however they are not functional. (No igniter to deploy) in its place to trick the Srs system is resistors. So no airbag lights are on
