Arrow s2k snobs?

not trying to start a flame war here. but me and my bro went to the milpitas meet tonight, to maybe get to meet some of the s2ki members and get a feel of how the club is. im not gonna mince words but it felt like walkin to a ivy league group without the secret handshake, tried to start a conversation with one person (he was kinda ok) but otherwise its like if we didnt pull out with a s2k were like nah you dont belong here. kinda feelin ... we had my bro's teenage kids in the car that was curious as well, and were waitin in the car if it was a cool enough atmosphere for them to walk around in and such, but we decided that nah it wasnt, im still buyin an s2k regardless will still lurk around here for quick answers and what not but as far as goin to the meets maybe ill try ones somewherelse.... thats it done ranting.

Milpitas, huh? Home of the Asian wannabe-gangsters. It wasn't because of the S2000. It's just how they are. It'd be the same if it was a group of Geo Metros.

A little stereotypical aren't we? "It's just how they are"?

To the OP:
I think you got the wrong impression. Because everyone already knows all the other regulars, it may seem "ivy league" as you put it. As with any situation, you really need to put yourself out there introduce yourself, ask questions, join conversations.

I agree with you. When I first got my s2k, I came out to the meets and my first impression was that it was very clique-ish. But once you get talking to people, or even join in the local events, you meet a lot of cool people. Joey (itS2Krazy) was kind enough to introduce me to everyone on my first night out.

My advice would be to post up in the local forums more often. Come out to a few Friday meets before you pass judgment. I wasn't there until ~12am tonight, but me and I know at least a dozen other people would have been happy to answer any pre-buyer questions that you had.

This kind of critisim is very valid as it shows us our effectiveness on creating our s2k community.

Talking

you could be right. im just basing this on my past experience, i just recently moved here from socal, and over there we had thursday night bike meets at brothers burgers in huntington beach. and the atmosphere was cool! there was at least 50-75 bikes everytime and we didnt discriminate just because my group mostly had ducatis, coz in the end its all about the ride and love for bikes and i feel that it should be the same for cars, im never one to push myself on other people, coz in the end its just a car and my car doesnt pick the people i hang out with. nor does it define my personality, ill give everyone the benefit of the doubt and i may have judged to quickly o well im only human so ill toss it off to experience.

Could be, but being Asian, you know what I'm talking about.

This is but one of many instances. I go to get some boba in San Jose with a few friends. I noticed there was a group of Evos outside, as if it was a meet or something. I go in, and BAM, the mug. Why must Asian guys mug other Asian guys they don't know? Obviously, not everyone is like that. But there's a large enough crowd of people like that to have a name for it. "Asian gangster-wannabes"

homie i dont know where you live or grew up, but you really need to get out more if you think when you walk into milpitas you run into punks. anywhere you go your gonna get that crap. You can go to any city and if youll find people doggin you. You also have to keep in mind if you think there muggin you, your looking at them the same way and they think the same thing. You better go check yourself man if you walk around with that kind of attitude your no better then the people your describing. On another note one day your probally gonna find yourself calling hte wrong person a wannabe gangster or offend them enough to get into some troubble.

manso, i agree with you man. I dont come out to the meets much. Ive only come out 4 or 5 times. Mainly because i noticed people are not as friendly in person then on the forums. I have only taken my s2k to the meets twice or so but i have noticed if i roll in someone elses car there are people who act cocky and try to look down on you because they own an S and think you own a civic or so. However there not all like that. I roll with vinh if i go to the meets. I use to go with van. Ive known these guys since highschool and there dope. Ive meet joey recently,vu, bens hella cool. What im trying to say is you really have to try to get to know people and dont let a few jerks kill your night. Im sure if you wanted to give it another try these guys would try harder to introduce themselves. and if not you can come kick it with me and well talk shit about them together i dunno if you saw me but i was the one all the way on the right side smoking and complaining about not getting coffee
