There hasn't been an honest comparison that I've seen so far. I have a person in my group who just put down deposit for one though(too much car for her if you ask me)
Some of the basic ESTIMATED(as I haven't seem them committ to anything yet either) are:
280+hp
NA V6l (so roughly about 250-280lbs of tq?)
3150lbs
0-60 in < 6.0 seconds
First guess is that it will have more creature comforts, a front like an S2000 and a rear like an altima. I'm sure they'll be nice cars, and have a great market for tuners....

Car and driver this issue has an article on 350Z, all the comparison chart at the end has comparison with S2000.
S2k is on top for everyone except 0-60, which is only a fraction of a second slower.

The 350z is fine! Where it looses is weight. It's too darn heavy see the latest car and driver for specs. 0-60 is the same as an s2000 even with 280 hp. This translates to a slower convertible (more weight) when they do release the drop top 350z, unless they loose some weight beforehand.
