That is not really a fair fight to be honest. Both around 2800lbs and one has 40hp less and has more tire. Not to mention the BR-Z is significantly cheaper than an S2000 of any era. "The best Subaru/Toyota can make"?! Subaru has already built an entire generation of cars much faster than an S2000 in a straight line for years and years now for around the same price, and Toyota has this car from the 90s called the Supra, maybe you have heard of it?
I can't wait to drive a BR-Z/FR-S/86! I am sure it has a very similar personality to the S2000.
Your dad seems like a fantastic gentleman. Make sure you let him know I think the world of him and that he is a credit to the human race! Also, maybe he lets me borrow the keys to both of those cars, maybe? (said in best Zoidberg voice)

I dont think the BRZ and s2000 are comparable. My dad's getting a Toyota/Subaru Ae86 whatever in the near future to replace his 2007 civic si. If he lets me, I'll bring it to the meet someday. Whenever its easily avaible and able to get a test drive, he'll get one. Not letting go of the Si tho.
He used to race hydroplane boats as well.

Also worth a mention. After the return of Tsuchiya and friends with new volumes of Hot Version, they have been testing this car like it is going out of style. If anyone spots a Hot Version Vol. 111+ around the bay area let me know!

Some pretty crazy D1 cars already out and about too, and someone on the Speedhunters crew has a 2JZ swapped 86 in the works already.
Also take a look at these photos and let it sink in for a bit...

I was @ a Subaru dealership over the weekend and they had a silver BRZ on the lot. I was surprised how small it was in person. Sitting in it kinda reminded me of the S a lil bit as everything was tight and compact. The rear seats aren't really seats as their as absolutely NO footroom and your head would touch the roof. The trunk was roughly the same as the S and the opening felt even smaller. I would consider this for a DD but just not very practical.
