S2000 Inspection in the Bay Area
Hello s2k owners,
I'm looking at perhaps purchasing a used S2000 in the future and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for good mechanics to check out an S2000 for any mechanical or common problems. Also, are there any senior members that I could pay to come take a look at an S2000 when I find the one I want? Thank you.

You can take the car to Blacktrax shop located in Milpitas by great mall. They can definitely help you check out the s2000 you're interested in buying.
I can also recommend Macr88 (Mac) to help you check the car out. If he is willing to. I hope he doesn't mind me recommending his assistance

I took my S2000 to AHConnection in SJ for a compression test before I bought it. They charged $125 for work (this was two years ago) and it certainly made me feel good about the purchase. Blacktrax is also another good way to go.

You paid $125 for a compression test? Wow...I had no idea it cost that much....I only paid $10 for the tool and I did the test myself before purchasing my s2k

Thanks for the good references. I have another question.. how long do your rear tires last driving in the Bay Area? I don't race and don't plan on it. I've read that most of the time they only last about 10k miles which means a new set every year for me as I plan on having it as my daily driver. I also don't drive hard.

Get an alignment and run very little toe if you want your tires to last.
Not saying or recommending this to you but I run 0 toe up front and a 3/32 in the rear. Toe eats tires like I eat ice cream.
