For those of you on the peninsula, I have done this commute a fair number of times: from Redwood City to Sears Point takes about 1:15 or so leaving at 6:30 to arrive before 8:00am via 280, 19th Street and the Golden Gate. Watch for CHP north of the bridge on 101, some have radar others like to sneak up from behind.

The reverse commute is a little different. Hang a right immediately past the toll booth, along the cliffs above the beach, left on 25th, right on Geary I think, down to the beach at the Cliff House, south along the beach onto Skyline and then 280. This avoids 19th Street traffic. Plan on 1:30 for this.

I'm coming from the Tri-Valley (Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin). Any advise on the best roads to take that time of the morning? Also, how long will it take? I was guessing 2 1/2 - 3 hours? Thanks.

Everyone be sure to check your engine oil level. I discovered mine was low this morning, I guess from the smoking it was doing in turn 2.

What a great day!!!! Thank you all for supporting Maury and I (and Roscoe D. Dog). Special thanks to Ed for all the organizing and to Keith for the use of the car. That was really a treat for us to experience the S2K on the track. We weren't sure there would be time to get us in. And, of course, we had no idea we weren't going to be able to have our own car there. (no dog sitter ) It all worked out well and we hope to see everyone again real soon. Remember people----keep that limp wrist thingy going on the gear shift and slow input all the time!!!! Ina & Maury
