Also.. most of these rental companies are just sitting on the cars, wasting away their own money to have them sitting there. Call them and say that price doesn't work for you, and see what they say. Never know 'till you try
They offered me that Cayman S for 240 a day but that's still over a grand for 5-6 days which is more than I wanted to spend (around 700-800 max).

Gotta pay to play. Honestly, it's pretty unrealistic to expect to have a decent sports car for that much...

That sounds about right. Or you can rent a mustang gt for about $120 a day.
