Default Removing the front H emblem and made a mess

Hi all,

I attempted to remove the front H badge and thought I was gonna be a easy tast, but it didn't turn out to be.

I took off the badge without knowing I should heat it up first, so the the sticky tape on the sides of the H didn't come off completely, and It has a terrible "H" shaped markings on the front bumper.

Any one experienced the same? Is there a way to get rid of the sticky stuff and remove those markings?

Thanks for the help.

theres a rubber wheel you can attach to a drill or w.e you can get from auto parts store or maybe amazon that will tape it right off and not damage paint.

and might be a good idea to hit it with a clay bar as well.

Thanks!
yeah, i clayed it already but the markings didn't come off.

For the rubber wheel, does it remove the sticky tape on the bumper? Or removes the markings as well?

Heat is you friend for badge removal. You never know what you'll find underneath.

When I changed out my Emblems I used a fish line to remove then used Turtle Bug and Tar remover on the left over glue/residue. I let it sit there for 5 min and then rub it off with my fingers. Didn't have a problem.

you can use goo gone for the tape,

the markings you are referring to, looks like new and old clearcoat from sun beat. not sure if your car is just dirty or you leave the car in the sun a lot.

to blend the new and old clear coat you're gonna need compound and polisher.

you plan on running with the two holes or are you getting a new emblem?
