Ill carivan up there with u Kaylins. I am also located in San Jose. I also wouldnt mind getting my injectors looked at. MY02 keeps throwing random misfiring codes. But I'll change and clean the sparkplugs before I pursue that.

As for the valve adjustment pricing, I was quoted around $80 give or take from two different shops. I didnt even bother asking Stevens Creek Honda, because I dont want them anywhere near my car.

You have any experience located cracked or even slight cracked retainers?
for the valve adjustment we charge the same. so i dont know if you want to drive up here for that. since it is a bit farther.

also for the random misfire codes. how many miles do you have? try changing the plugs first. and for injectors. just to let you know. we dont clean them. like some places would try and sell you that service. we dont believe in cleaning them. you're better off replacing them if thats the case. but then again you have to find out what codes they are. keep in mind. injectors dont go bad so often. maybe a bad coil pack?

for the cracked retainers. how did that happen? i know what symptoms you are talking about for your motor. but it could be any of those things you listed. actually i dont see retainers being cracked as a problem. maybe more of a bent valve type thing.

Nice, Thanks Joey. Ill go ahead and set up an appointment since I have friends and relatives I need to visit in SF anyways. As for the retainer situation, I have been hearing a lot of people have been finding them from different scenarios. (Over rev check, previous owner check, symtoms acting up, etc. etc.)

So I thought why not check it out and see if its good or not. Just a peace of mind. Retainers can begin to crack over time and then it just takes one valve to drop. I might be parainod, but I daily it soo..

I need a cabin filter replaced also. Smells like all kinds of nasty.

Is there a shop # or a cell I can get in contact with anyone so I can set up an appointment?

Can I also get the fluid treatment if I bring my own?

Thanks again.

Jason

BTW, MY02 has about 39k.

Deal and deal. I actually will my own fluid changes. Ill just need a valve adjustment, cabin filter replaced, and if time permits, a inspection of the valve retainers. (I really would appreciate it if you guys could do this). But then I am also aware that this procedure can be time consuming if the retainers need to be replaced. But hey, atleast we found some ^_^

this is what I do on my 30K service. good thing our car is distrubless, so no need to change cap and rotor, spark plugs and spark plug wire. We have coilpacks until 90-100k

oil & oil filer change
valve cover gasket, grommets, and tube seals.
valve adjustment if need. I would do a valve for the previous years s2000 especially 00-early02
check air filter and cabin filter and replace if need
tranny and diff fluid change
insert wiper blades
clutch adjustment if need
lube all door, trunk, hood hinges and locks, and weatherstrips

most of the dealers charge on the 30k serivce is pretty much inspection
