What's up guys. Long story short I cracked my radiatior because of a faulty thermostat. I've been quoted for a new radiator, cap, thermostat, and labor would be $775. Is that a fair price? Also, would it be wise to replace my water pump to?
Thanks

no.. get a used radiator, and the install is almost foolproof. if you see coolant leaking, a hose belongs there. basically thats it. LMk if you need a rad and how soon. a used radiator shouldn't be more than 200$, and replacing it shouldnt take more than 1-2 hours max including time for bleeding the coolant.
no it wouldn't be wise to replace your water pump because that requires a lot of labor which is basically a tear down. if you're due for a timing belt, then get the water pump done then.
good luck.

Not sure how a faulty thermostat would case a radiator to crack, but if the thermostat is faulty, they obviously that needs to be replace.
Replacing the water pump itself is pretty easy and straight forward. If you also want to replace the housing, that's a little more effort.
BTW, we don't have a timing belt, it's a chain, and it's basically good for the life of the motor. Not sure what the service interval on the water pump is though.

I agree with voodoo, probably the top unless the shop busted it somewhere else 0.0 I've seen some stupid mechanics using the radiator as leverage.... -.- fail

Totally agree^^ Just replaced mine with a used one last weekend. Hairline crack at the top of the radiator. Installed it myself. Took about 2-3 hrs total but hella cheap compared to new and having someone else do it. Big thanks to savs2k for the rad!! PM s2kcr he had a spare one that he offered to me but savs2k was a bit closer so I picked his up.
