Default quick question about insurance..

I got into a huge accident and it has been confirmed to be their fault. Does the other side cover my aftermarket parts that were damaged or are they going to replace everything with OEM parts?

Thanks

They should restore the car to pre-accident condition. With whatever parts were damaged.

it is my understanding that some insurance companies will not pay you for anything aftermarket installed on the car if it was not reported to the insurance company as such.

my friend had a 2000 Civic Si that was in an accident, it had aftermarket intake, exhaust, front bumper, hood and did not inform his insurance company about the parts. He ended up getting hit badly in front. All of the mentioned parts were replaced with OEM per the insurance company because they said he did not report the parts to the company beforehand.

I'd call your insurance company and see what their policy is about this. They may cover the parts, but they also may raise your rate because of the parts

Yea I'm fine thanks for asking. Funny story because the girl reported to the cops that she did run the red light and thought it was green. But when I called insurance they said she told them she was going on a green light and I ran the red light, apparently she forgot she told the cops the truth. hahahha epic fail.
