I haven't send any samples of the Castrol in myself but luckily many other AP2 owners have and posted up their results. 5k OCI seems to be on the low end of the range with most results showing it could go closer to 7500. Obviously it would be best to send in my own samples since my driving patterns are probably different, but that's why I stick to the shorter range that has shown good results.

Castrol Edge with Titanium 10W30

142,413 Total Miles
OEM Honda Filter

7.3 Quarts of Make-Up Oil Added

Your car burned 7.3 quarts of oil in a 9,500 mile interval?!

Obviously I wouldn't think of pushing it to that kind of mileage, Especially since so far I typically burn maybe a quart every 1500-2000 miles. I just wouldn't want to waste the money that I spent on this stuff by doubting what I read on the back of a bottle and on forums.
My last Oil change I used amsoil. Not doing that money sink again. I used the original ~5.5 qt's and another 1.5 qt's over ~6.5k miles. I'd only add about .5qt's of pennzoil in the same time frame with even more hard driving. I actually babied the S during my amsoil time (just commuting mileage).

I'ma just stick with Pennzoil Platinum/Hyper for the rest of the time I have the car. It's given me better life with way harder driving.

And no I wasn't about to spend another $25 on that oil change to get an analysis.

He's got the FC20 motor it can bun up to 1qt per 1K. So it's not outside the norm.

You're changing your oil early if you aren't going 7500 miles on syn oil. The motor was built to drive to the moon on 7500 oci on dino oil.

Interesting.. I guess it's all in trial and error. I hope to get better results than that but we'll see, Just did the oil change today.
