question about unemployment
I checked out the Edd.ca.gov website but was not able to find the answer I was looking for
I had an employee for one week (5 days) - She was freshly laid off from her previous job. On the fifth day she decided that she cannot perform her duties and decided to leave. now she's filing unemployment. Would she qualify based on such a short employment period and the fact that she quit her job (instead of being let go).
I know only EDD can make a judgement on this but I'm looking for some inputs.
Thanks

You must have been hard on her!
I gave her a chance even though she was let go from her previous job due to incompetance.
BTW, thanks for the responses.

Actually you can get unemployment anytime you don't have a job. If you don't have a job because you quit or were fired then it might be harder but you can still apply.

you CAN claim unemployment if you QUIT. you cannot claim it if you were fired with a reason such as giving out company secret etc etc
BUT i think you need to work for a certain period in order to file for unemployment.
