Question about after market clutch (long)
Ok...
I have an appointment at Larry Hopkins Honda for another attempt at the TSB's and the decel noise is back. The hesitation at higher RPM's in various gears. And the chunk, clink, chunk at very slow speeds coming from the rear.
The grind and easy spinning clutch disc.
We talked; if they decide to do the TSB and HOA even said the best way to go might be to add a stronger clutch and pressure plate. Since HOA and LHH said, " Honda does not have a stronger clutch disc" unless we went after market.
I agree, what do you all think?
I have e-mail correspondence with Ben from Bulletproof Automotive Inc. I have heard nothing but good things about the ACT clutch and pressure plate. There is a GB on it now. I read somewhere that the ACT combo is better than Mugen's. That would be really good if I can get that and rid the S2K of its decel noise and clutch issues. And if the rear noise is the diff they can fix it.

I've been using an ACT on my '87 RX7 Turbo drag car for 2 years now. I only have experience with their straight race clutch/PP, but it is SOLID. It is more than capable of handling the 450+ horses on my RX7 in drag situations, so I would be confident using their street products... When I'm ready to do the TSB I'd probably consider using the ACT instead of stock... Anyways, I got mine from www.srmotorsport.com, he's good people and gave me a great price on all the parts I've gotten from him. He specializes in RX7 parts though, but he should be able to order whatever you need.
