I went to a dealer in the south bay today and tried to negotiate a deal for a 2002 Suzuka Blue. It seems that the dealer is willing to sell at MSRP. I just wanted to get some of your opinions on whether it'd be a good idea to get a "left-over" 2002 for MSRP this late in the model year. I know that the 2003 will be almost identical to the 2002 except for some color changes that don't concern me. Should I go for the 2002 or wait and try to order a 2003 later? Any feedback, pointers, and suggestions are welcome. Thanks for your help.

Well, we finally pulled the trigger and bought a 2002 Suzuka Blue today!
My wife and I still have a hard time believing that an S2000 is in our garage right now. It's just magic when we get behind the wheel.

We got MSRP from Los Gatos Honda. It seems like a fair deal for a blue one. The best thing is that we can start enjoying the car while the weather is still good! We look forward to becoming a part of the club. This board is just wonderful!

Congrats on getting the new car! Mine is just over a month old now (1000 miles) and the newness hasn't worn off yet. You will find it hard to keep your foot out of it for the 1st 600 miles but once you do...you get to experience this car's dual personality! IMO, with getting the car right now and enjoying it, MSRP is a fair deal. Have fun!

I was at Dublin Honda last week and they had a black one on display with no "dealer markup" in the window, so I think they might be selling S2000's for MSRP too.

If your dealer has a car on display with MSRP in the window and no other markup displayed, they can't charge over that, or it would be false advertising and fraud! If they post a price, they have to honor it, just like the super market has to honor the posted price of milk when it rings up wrong.

It was gone today when I picked up my car from service.

I think they have moved on to bigger and better things... ripping people off for Pilots.... though I saw no markup in that window either.

In any case, phenomenal service with those guys. I want to replace my Jeep with a Pilot so I can bring it to them for service!!
