price range for s2k

It all depends on how long you're willing to wait. I just paid top $ for mine (with mods) and I think the guy had been holding firm on his price for many months. I was willing to pay more because I knew I wanted most of those mods anyway and adding them myself would have cost more.
If you want top $, I'd suggest watching the market (craigslist, autotrader, yahoo autos, carsdirect) for a week or more and track the asking prices. I have a spreadsheet of 31 S2Ks that were for sale a few months back that I can send you if that would help. PM me if you want it.

The things that needed to be fixed were...
1. Rear bumper (neighbor scuffed it on the towhook door)... repaint only needed.
2. Windshield has a long crack from the left side to the right side.
3. Front bumper is scraped because of tapping high parking curbs.
4. Needed a new battery since it was having a hard time starting.
5. Passenger door has a kinda long scratch from a metal pole jumping up and hitting the door.
6. Passenger's seat has a nice tear on it (kinda big).
Besides that it was a great car and the clutch still felt like new.
KBB said the trade-in was worth $16,000 if there were no cosmetic problems.
BTW, I got a 2009 Nissan 370Z Touring w/the sports package and navi unit
