Prepaid Sim Cards For International Travel?

Is it cheaper to buy prepaid sim cards here or oversea? I'm going to be in Shanghai, China for three weeks. I'm going to use my unlocked quad band GSM cell phone over there for the first time. Telestial.com have prepaid sim cards for $69 with ($18 usd) airtime credit..

Cellularabroad.com also have it for $69 with ($18 usd) airtime credit...So the sim card itself is $51.00. It's .07 to .10 cents per min for local calls while in China and .47 cents per min international(USA).

my GF does the same thing when we visit her fam in shanghai...but she just buys the sim card over THERE. i think it's b/c it's cheaper there...and you can also recharge locally there (assuming you speak chinese...).
