Default Pre purchase inspection - San Jose

Hi everyone,

I'm located in Los Angeles, CA and I am searching for a AP2 s2000. I've expanded my search from San Diego to Los Angeles, out 500 miles all around. This stooky stood out more because of the low miles, clean car(except one bitted rim), and reasonable dealer price. I would like to request for a knowledgeable s2000 owner to give the car a quick look through before I come up to look at it (almost 400 miles away).

Please let me know if anyone would be willing to give a fellow a hand with this request. If the car is in great shape, lets meet up and grab some drinks and talk shop

Thank You!
Nit Singh

Someone would have to take it to BlackTrax for him ..

It's from a dealer so I'd be inclined to believe it's a safer bet. It doesn't say if it's CPO or not.

Its not a CPO, and I think because the car had been serviced at a non Honda dealership <http://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistory/p/Report.cfx?partner=UCS_0&vin=JHMAP21458S000670> Thats the only reason I could image. I was not planning on asking the person who over looks the car to take it on anything more than a good test drive and quick look through of the car.

I did see this posting, but I do not plan on asking the s2k person checking out the car to take it on anything more than a test drive and a look through of the car.

What are you looking for exactly? Just an overall lookover of the exterior and interior for imperfections? Test drive to see if it drives like a normal regular s2k w/o any funky noises? I had someone do the same for me when I bought my s2k out in So Cal so I'll pay it forward.

If it's something like that, I can do it for you. If you're looking for compression test and something down that road, that i can't do.

Yup, no compression/etc just overall look and feel of the car. Make sure it's running good before I pay to take a look at it. It you can snap some pictures with a diggy cam, not cell phone cam so I can see high quality pictures and see the imperfections prior to paying to see it.

It's weird it's not CPO, usually the dealers take the car, inspect it and sell it as a CPO with ~3K markup. Or at least that's what I understood when I was looking for mine.

Not sure that the fact it's not a CPO is a sign of something fishy here ?

Yeah not sure what's why I'm looking to have it looked over. Um I'm looking to get Honda care extended warranty too. Covering my butt this time.

ive heard stevens creek dealers are pretty shady, ive also had bad experiences with them when i was looking for a car, they wouldnt even let me test drive a car on the lot.

i would check the car in and out, make sure all the original vin# are there, nothing fishy going on, everything is lined up correctly, etc etc. even if carfax says its clean, not everything is documented in carfax. personally, id like to look at the car myself before purchase so you won't be disappointed.
