Wow. I didn't think the commute time to Vacaville would be that short from Hercules. Thats good to know. Anything 45 min or less is better than what I got going on in Chicago...

Yeah I would definitely stay on the Vallejo / Fairfield side to avoid the commute...I am a mortgage broker and have an office in Fairfield and can help you with the living situation if you want advice or looking for a home...let me know...but on a side note there are a lot of haters in Vallejo too so pick your areas.

I'm moving to Pinole soon so if you do move to Hercules that'll be one more S owner near by

How is the Hercules/El Sobrante area? I'd prefer to stay closer to SF, as I'd like to have a social life.

to be honest with you I think Hercules is getting to packed Pinole and El Sobrante are nice quite and still not too far from the City

Wow. Even without officially "looking" I've had like 4 people identify themselves as mortgage brokers and 3 as realtors. hehe. Thanks for the "concern" =)
