Default port and polish

So im buying a new ap1 head. ive heard good and bads for port and polishing, but i wanted to get a second opinion. i couldnt find another forum on this so i wanted to see what id get out of it. First of i heard the honda head is already cut to precision specs but you can go alittle bigger on the ports. second ive heard that if the mechanic f***s up then you'll lose hp . let me know if its worth a shot. thanks

No need to do it. End of debate.

As Vu stated, unless you have a fully built motor with supporting mods to go with the port and polish, there is no point. Almost everything in the S2000 motor was built that way for a reason. If you actually look at the OEM head, it already has amazing valve work, and head flow. for the price, your better off spending your money elsewhere.

Remember, with more air, you MUST compensate with fuel. Meaning, you must tune the motor. There are rare cases where a port & polish has netted gains of 230+whp with just bolt on mods (db2mexICAN) is the ONLY one I know of that has had great gains with a port and polished head.

Either way, the choice is yours. Spend your money wisely!

not worth the money to port/polish. The stock head flows pretty darn well already.
If you wanted to build her up with headwork, cams, improved valves/springs blah blah then go for it, just will be very expensive.
