Poll: Which rims should I get? Rota Torque vs. Work CR Kai
Hello fellow s2k owners, I need your help on this one. I currently have:
Enkei RPF1
245/40/17 17X8 +45(Front) w/ T1R 3mm 5X114.3 wheelspacers to clear my StopTech 328X28mm BBK ST. (Front pulled flared fenders).
255/40/17 17X9 +45(Rear). Rolled + rear tab relocated
And would like to change the style of my S2000 first thru rims. I have been spending hours & days, in forums researching, trying to determine which size, offsets, to get but getting frustrated, confused about which route to go. For sure the color would be in plain silver and rim size 18's. One more thing, I really don't want the tires to stick out like this. http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5051/...2a03a5b0_o.jpg
I have always vision this look. The rims look like a propeller/fan. Your imput and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Your first picture takes the cake for me!
Too many guys trying to do funky colored rims these days for the sake of being JDM or standing out. Classis silver rims with spokes that extend all the way to the edge is the way to go for the s2000. Since you are doing 18's the visual impact will be even more stunning compared to say your old RFP1's or step lip wheels like the BBS LM's.

out of those two wheels, i'd get the Work version. not just being a brand whore. there are forged versions of the Works. not sure if they're made anymore tho. actually, you want 18s. i think the forged Kais only came in 17. you'll prob have to wait for them to be made in jdmland even for 17s. both the unforged Rota & Work are pretty heavy, but i guess they're good enough for the resident racers on here.
if you go Rota, contact Joe fron Wheeldude. they're local, & he's a good guy. he's the Rota king of the West Coast.

+1 for the Rotas. I agree with s4play that you want to keep it a basic/neutrak wheel color: black, silver, maybe chrome. Gunmetal might be good too.

For the CR Kais in 18s, Your best option is 18x8.5 +38 and 18x9.5 +38. The 8.5 is semi concave and 9.5 is deep concave. If you're ok with nonstaggered, then you should get the 18x9.5 +38 all of around. Since you are rolled and flared in the front, it shouldn't be problem. You can run 225/40/18 in front and 245/35/18 or 255/35/18 in the rear. It all depends on your camber setup and how rolled you are in the rear. If you're ok with the square setup, 245/35/18 or 255/35/18 all around should give you the look you want. You should verify fitment with your BBK though.

Thank-you everyone. I like the deep concavity. 18x8.5 +38 and 18x9.5 +38. I am not sure what the difference b/t +45 and +38 means. I'll probably run as square setup as possible. Also, I will probably need thicker front spacers(not sure how much thicker), and extended lug nuts(Not sure how long either). I'll still take any other advice....greatly appreciated with all the inputs and knowledgeable resource in this forum.

The lower the number (+38), the more the wheel will sit AWAY from your fender/hub.
The center of the 18x8.5 +38 and 18x9.5 +38 CR Kais will sit 7mm away from your current +45 setup. Then add another 0.25" on the outside/inside clearance since you are adding 0.5" overall width.
Clearing big brakes with most concave wheels gets a little tricky because of the deep drop center and the spokes to concave from, so do some research on those CR Kais in that size/offset.
