here's the places that I recommend:
halu on saratoga ave, specializes in thick noodle ramen
do henkotsu near mitsuwa, tokushima style ramen
santa in san mateo, specializes in tonkotsu
hiwamari in san mateo

not sure about places in SF.

do henkotsu near mitsuwa, tokushima style ramen --> been there and prices are cheap and taste is good
santa in san mateo, specializes in tonkotsu -->never been too
hiwamari in san mateo --> heard about it through my coworker

Anybody down for Shabu-Shabu??? There is a good place in Mtn View.
I think its called Shabu Station.
