How are you guys comparing PS3 with it's release titles atm? Of course release titles aren't going to show true potential of what the PS3 is all about. I mean NO GAME on the X360 looked good enough to be classified "new gen" until Gears of War which came out a year since X360 launch?
Like I said before the PS3 is barely getting its feet wet, it's in due time when third-party supporters utilize the PS3 to what it's hyped up to be. Then again, I must admit I'm one of Sony's strongest supporters ever.
When I look at PS3's launch titles vs X360 launch titles, IMO blows microsoft out of the water. Not only that, Resistance VS Gears of war, extremely close in graphics and gameplay. And this is only the tip of the iceberg for the PS3, being a launch title.. and X360 already had its one year head start... that's a scary thought already.
I'm definately impressed, and I can't wait to see what the PS3 is truly capable of in the next year (MGS4, Tekken 6, Final Fantasy XIII...). And the fact that PS3 games are region-less makes it even better, allowing the exclusive titles to be accessed worldwide.. (Namco X Capcom dilemma for PS2, only available in japan, and other japan/HK/korea specific titles etc)

Grand Turismo 5 and Resident Evil 5 come out in December of 2007 so for me and what I know there is no need for a PS3 until maybe November of 2007, when at that time I will be able to walk into Walmart and buy one for $399. Thats a fact.

Interesting article about how much each unit cost to make and how much they are losing on each one. http://www.betanews.com/article/PlayStatio...Sold/1163688668
ISuppli analyst Andrew Rassweiler credited Sony's beyond-state-of-the-art design and manufacturing for the PS3's high costs. "To give an example of how cutting-edge the design is," Rassweiler stated this morning, "in the entire history of the iSuppli Teardown Analysis team, we have seen only three semiconductors with 1,200 or more pins. The PlayStation 3 has three such semiconductors all by itself. There is nothing cheap about the PlayStation 3 design. This is not an adapted PC design. Even beyond the major chips in the PlayStation 3, the other components seem to also be expensive and somewhat exotic.

It seems it took less than a week for PS3 demand to drop: http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3155358
I wonder if it is because of the wii. I don't think there is a single PS3 game out that I would buy yet.
