I don't think Mt. Hamilton is a good place.
It is a good place for sunset, but not good for sunrise, unless you want drive to the observatory. ( for normal driving, need spend about 50 mins to arrive summit)
For sunset, you can go to Mt. Hamilton grandview restaurant. It's a good place for couple.

recommend prime rib in this restaurant.
