Pictures from Marin Backroads drive
I took some pictures throughout the course of the day while driving, which is why some of the pictures aren't so great, but at least it's something you can look at. The weather could have been better but all in all I had a good time and the seafood was good.
The link to the pictures is in my signature below, and the folder is entitled: "Marin Backroads Drive 2-23-02"
Enjoy!

Thanks for getting them posted so quickly.
I enjoyed the get-together, although we need to put somebody else in charge of the weather next time, whoever arranged today's weather screwed it up.
I, along with many others, also made the mistake of following the Miata and a silver S2000 on the Fairfax road. I went on that last fall on a motorcycle and had resolved to avoid that particular road in the future. I should have pulled a U-turn before getting down it too far.
Repeat after me:
I will not go through Fairfax again.
I will not go through Fairfax again.
I will not go through Fairfax again.
I also tried avoiding the heavy and slow 580 traffic by going through Berkeley on highway 13. Most of it could easily have been traversed faster on a bicycle. At least once I got to Redwood road I had a great drive back towards Pleasanton.
Overall the even was still worth my time. Thanks to those who organized it.

First off, thanks loki for suggesting this route and the restaurant. Both are very nice. Next time if we try Mt Tam/Muir Woods, we can go to Tony's again.
One thing interesting this time is that we messed up our route. This is because part of Wilson Hill Rd is named as Hicks Valley Rd.... But then group drive is all about adventure and exploration, so I guess that's still all fun.
Well, we checked Yahoo!Weather yesterday and this morning, it said it is "Partly Cloudy". Usually we will cancel a drive if it says its gonna rain.
But it is actually quite fun to drive in the rain. When you are top down, the worst is when you are at dead top. But if you drive fast enough, not much water actually get into your seat. This somehow urges you to drive faster and faster just to avoid the water. That may or may not be fun but it definitely is an all new experience for all of us!
It was funny when we are on our way back. There was a lady running opposite of us. She pulled over her car to the side and took a picture some of us in the back. Hmm.. Maybe we are very special in her eyes!

Sorry that only DavePK and Maury and I drove past Olema on Route 1 towards Stinson. Why did you all turn left to SirFrancisDrake???? Maury and I stopped at Stinson Beach public parking lot--plenty of spaces and had a quick stop/look at the ocean. It was magnificent. The drive from Stinson was all twisty turny with incredible overlooks and a great drive to view a LINE of S2Ks because of the hairpin curves. Everyone could see everyone else while driving. Oh well----next time maybe. Thanks again to Yee Man for organizing this one. It was an adventure. Enjoyed having Pepper along as our mascot. Roscoe just can't fit into an S2k. Loved driving with top down in the rain--didn't really get wet at all. Sooooo----ooooo when do we ride again? Ina & Maury
