Did you get nabbed in San Jose? I think they are the only ones using photo radar.

On a similar subject, I got a redlight camera ticket in Fremont a little over a year ago for failing to stop at a red before making a right turn. The photo and video thing sucks since I've done the same slow and go and cops have let it slide. I later found out that 85% of the redlight tickets in the intersection that I got mine in were for right hand turns and not straight through violations. In the end I just payed my tax and did online traffic school to get it cleared.

They do started doing right turns at the end of 2005 since I don't think they were getting enough revenue. If you look at the contract, it's a flat fee to Redflex unless enough money isn't generated and then they just get a percentage of what is collected.

There's a lot more info here:

I got my ticket for turning right from Stevenson to Blacow near the Arco.

Oh wow... that sucks! I hope they give you some leeway... like anything less than 5 mph over is ok or something. Did you see the flash go off?

the only reason i never get nailed at stevenson and blacow is because i'm always driving through the intersection, i never need to make a right turn there
