Default Phew...Almost got a ticket!!

I just finished changing all my fluids (diff, motor, tranny, brake) and adjusted my shocks a little. So, I thought I would take a quick run down the freeway to see how it felt. As I am merging onto the freeway I see a cop off to the right with its lights on with another car. So, I think cool. This should be clear sailing. Afterall I was only going down to the next exit. So, I give it some gas, redline 2nd, 3rd and shift into 4th. I notice headlights in my mirror and its coming up quite fast. I am cruising about 80 in the slow lane as the car behind pulls up next to me. Its a DAMN CHP!!! He hits his brakes so he is right next to me. I look down and I notice I am going 78. I didn't dare look over at him, but he pulls in front of me and brake checks me so I will slow down. We both exited at the next off ramp, I turn left to get back on the freeway and he turns right... PHEW...I was lucky. BTW, the car felt great.

I had an experience similar to that about a month after I got my car. I was merging on the freeway one night and some goon is sitting in my blind spot and accelerates with me so I can't move over. I'm in 3rd at about 55, so I nail it, hit 80 and move in front of the guy, then slow back to about 70.

heh...on come the lights. That goon that wouldn't let me merge was a CHP.

Lucky for me he got a call while he was rummaging through my paperwork, so he tossed all my stuff into the passenger seat, said and took off.

Do you live in a city with cops that don't like people who speed?
Well...it doesn't really matter where I live since it's not a metro city and the cops usually only give you a warning if you're nice and apologize

When I was younger and getting ready to leave for college, I though I'd joyride in my Prelude one last time. I took it to the freeway and was going pretty quick (100+). A CHP was hiding near some big rigs and just popped up behind me as I was slowing down from my speed frenzy. He pulls me over as i'm going about 75. He comes up to my window and asks if I knew how fast I was going. I said I was following the flow of traffic, so I didn't see anything wrong with my speed ( ).

Anyways, he told me he'd let me off the ticket if I gave him some advice about how to fix up his Ford Focus (this is when it just came out). I was a bit confused (wasn't sure if he was just joking). Anyways 15 minutes of bolt-on tips saved me a big nasty ticket. Learned my lesson and went to college.
