Default Paint repair options, car was keyed

Hi,
Anyone out there know much about painting cars?
My one month old S2000 was keyed this weekend. Are there methods available for repairing the damage without having to repaint the entire car?

Thanks

I also hear that Stanford European does an excelent job at painting. Recomend any other shops?

you can have it airbrushed...but that doesn't really fix the problem just covers it up.

I feel your pain. Sorry to hear about the damage to your car.

Depending on how deep the scratches are, and how many surfaces was damaged, you may be able to buff out the scratches without repainting the whole car. By all means, take the car to a body shop and get some ideas. It is very difficult for us to suggest anything without looking at the car itself.

As for shops, I've dealt with a shop in Sunnyvale called De La (something) near Mathilda and 237. They did a good job with repairing my Civic. Do a search on this forum and I am sure you will find several other body shops that people have dealt with. Good luck.

There is a place in North Bay that is supposed to be really good. Somewhere around San Raphael. I'll get you details...

Kit, thanks for the heads up. I found a shop to do it. White Oaks Auto Body in Campbell. I called my local Ferrari/Bentley Dealer (Silicon Valley Bentley) and got a referal to their body shop. I figure if they can paint cars that cost $1/2 a million bucks, they can do mine. The final verdict is that the entire side of the car needs to be painted to match, and the hood and trunk needs to be blended. Final cost $2,320. Insurance is paying it. I stopped by Stanford European and just didn't get a good feel there. The shop didn't look too clean/organized, their paint expert that came out and looked at the car only had one eye, (no joke here, I've nothing against the disabled, but I would like someone with 2 good eyes to make the call on how my paint looks!) I'll let you all know how things go at White Oaks.

Thanks for the suggestions.
Andy
