S2-Raw I am sorry that for enjoying one of the only freedoms we have left, and that you were treated so poorly.
I bet I will really be flamed for this, but I am used to not having the popular view.
The Autobahn, which our highway system is modeled after and improved on, was designed for sustained high speed (more than 65 mph). The S2000 was designed for an open road and high speed driving. With this said, why would you not participate and encourage high speeed driving for people who can handle their sports cars? And not interfere or harm others in the process?
The main danger out there is not people who "speed" (which is a subjective measure to begin with) but people not paying attention (driving their SUV, talking on the cell phone, drinking your Starbucks coffee, yelling at their kids, and smoking going down the road.) Yes possibly a slight exaggeration, next time you are driving down the road take a minute to look around and I bet you notice this happening more than you realize.
My question to you is who is more dangerous? A person driving whose attention is elsewhere at the "speed limit" or someone "speeding" in a sports car (possibly capable of much higher speeds) paying attention to the road?
Sort of a side note: I am sorry for anyone who tries to obey all laws. Laws are meant to be tested and yes broken to reach a higher level of consciousness for our society. At somepoint every thought the earth was flat and people were killed for saying otherwise, several hundred years later we know that people died wrongly. It is your responsibility as a citizen to test the laws that you see old and out dated.
That is all for now..
