Vue, I was looking at the F430 race you posted and noticed the light was blinking even when the car was accelerating?

This may/may not be a legal device because blinking red lights are only allowed on LE vehicles. For motorcycles the brake light pulsates usually 2-3 times and then stays solid for stopping purposes only. But if the rear brake light keeps blinking light that F-car does, you will most likely get pulled over for impersonating an officer.

I'll just get the 370Z OEM 4th brake light, then have black triangular plastic cutout over the LED lens to make it look more F1 like. Triangle>box, for my case. Once, I have all the unit in, I'll have you custom create a module/circuit to relay the light and blinking/braking pattern, to achieve the OEM(street legal) use, for foggy nights. =)

Vue, have you thought about using our rear tow hook cover location for the light? This was my original plan and I may try this route on my own car now that you have given me inspiration

I was thinking of using clear LED's flushed into the tow hook cap so it's not visible until activated. I think the triangular light would look sweet since you have that nifty diffuser but on stock body cars like mine the tow hook is the ideal spot in my opinion.

The wiring would be the same as what you want (dimmer 30% light output for driving usage, goes 100% brightness when brakes applied but will pulsate 3-4 times prior to going solid RED).

Let me know when you get the light....I'm itching to have a new project as I'm designing an authentic Knight Rider scanner complete with the swooshing noise for another guy right now

Sounds good. I was driving yesterday around 6pm and it was so damn foggy. Then it made me think...4th brake light as rear fog led light, makes sense as a precaution device so other drivers around u is aware(with alert) that u are there! I sometimes wish other cars had them.

This is an expensive + crazy project... yet an exciting, thrilling, and creative cool one.

Can't wait for this F1 style brake light/rear fog...custom work.

My heart is currently 'pulsating' like the flashing LED's, right about now!!! Oh yeahhhhhhh!!!!

^Vue, you may not need that $170 harness you just bought. It's pretty large and we would have to cut a pretty large hole somewhere to fit that switch. I have tons of switches that are way smaller and do the same job. Can you return it if we don't use it?

Save your money for the custom module as that will cost a bit and do way more options than that harness which is nothing more than a relay and a switch plus wires.

P.S. I ordered a different kind of LED setup for my tow hook cover idea so we can compare notes

TGIF!

lol, you're very welcome. I am definitely jealous of how great it appears on your car. Glad I was able to get in a few shots of it today
