One less Silverstone AP2 in the East Bay
Just took my '05 Silverstone AP2 off insurance and will not be registering it anymore. Now that I got my SCCA license (still novice), I'm converting it into a track-only car. I'll be having a roll cage installed this year, and surgically removing unneeded weight with my trusty sawzall. I'm targeting getting it's log book and racing it in STU next year (have too much business travel this year to do it before the fall), but hope to get a Double Regional in a Miata sometime this year. In the meantime a couple track days will have to suffice.
Kinda sad to retire it from the street, but I can't wait to get it on track again.

I haven't chosen a shop to get the cage installed yet. I've got a lot of travel coming up, so will wait until I can be around for fitting, etc. more frequently. I do want a Norcal fab shop experienced with S2000 cages, but haven't made a short list yet. I'm drooling over Driving Ambition's STU build, but don't think I'm up for that level of investment. If I had krazik's driving talent, maybe...but since I'm a mere mortal, I'll keep it a bit simpler ;-)

19wrath85, was it to a guy in Thailand? I was in Rayong on business in Jan and stopped at Bira Circuit, a small road course between Map Ta Phut and Pattaya? There was a right hand drive AP1 there that the guy said came from US racing in Time Attack. Yours?
