Where did you hear that?

Redline recommends breaking in a new engine on mineral oil for 3,000 miles before switching. I switched to Redline at 700 miles on my Miata with no ill effects.

Check your owner's manual. I believe the S2000 manual recommends keeping the factory oil in for a certain period. But do your own checking, don't just tell people you heard it from me.

I think I switched over to Redline just before my first track day, around ~2500 miles.

I read either in the 1000 page Honda manual or in a Honda TSB that you are not supposed to switch to synthetic until 15,000 miles.

Go Sharks.

Synthetic shouldn't be used until the rings seat. Something in the synthetic blend prevents them from seating properly.

Miles don't mean anything if you ask me.
