To clarify what Terrance914 is saying, he says BLOCK. Kids, make sure you don't confuse that with OIL PAN.
Actually, I do mean BLOCK. I have a 911 and the engine is in the back, and there is no oil pan. Actually, it's not even a block, they are suppose to be called "engine case"

FYI not being fecetious, just reinforcing what you're saying, that is all. I have heard and seen horror stories of #$%#%#% oil pans. Those aren't the greatest to clean up

But yeah, nice car

I don't know why there's animosity towards the guy. He hasn't ever said anything bad about anyone here and when I met him he was a nice and friendly guy.

No offense taken.

Yes, DON"T jack up by the oil pan. It will flex and your gasket won't be so kind to you anymore.

I once had a customer who jacked up his car to change his oil and didn't know he was using his radiator as a jackpoint. He was changing his oil by himself to try and save money. Ended up being like a $600 or something oil change.

1/2 the jobs we do are repairing other people's stupidity haha. But yeah you get the idea...lolz

There is a also a central jack point in the front of the car, BEHIND the radiator If you are slammed you will need a REALLY low clearance jack to reach it. I usually drive up on blocks and jack from it to do the front brake pads/fluid.

Guys, guys, yes most cars can be jacked from the diff but for those who don't own an E46 M3, there's actually a safer spot, a cross member, to jack the car and it's just inches in front of the diff. The diff is not designed to carry 1500+lbs! You can get away with jacking the diff sure but I just wouldn't...
