Default OEM Hardtop Stolen in San Jose

Hello All,

I can't believe it happened again but my hardtop was stolen in San Jose. It was bolted instead of using the OEM latches but the thief still made away with it while parked in a gated community. Please keep a lookout for a black OEM hardtop. Thanks fellas.

Hey, sorry that you have to deal with it. Another guy on the fb groups also had his HT stolen in San Jose. He luckily got it back but I found another ad that was similar to the one that was selling the stolen hardtop. When was your stolen? This guy is known to put ads similar to this, in which he puts give me your number and i'll give you more pictures. The pictures of the cars are from google/s2ki so its not original photos. He's also stolen a bunch of miata hardtops as well. I came from the miata world so I've seen my fair share of stolen hardtops and also had mine stolen.

Do you think this is yours? I'm worried that it might be gone already though.

Here is the thief's fb profile: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100010191732604. I'm sure he's under other names as well but this one I've seen many times.

Sorry this happened.

Curious how the thief got access to the inside of the car to unbolt the roof. So much for the gated "security."

Sorry to hear about that...what part of SJ was this stolen from?
Also, are there any identifying marks to look out for?

I'll keep an eye out, and I hope you are able to get it back!!

Had ours stolen a couple years ago now and a neighbors in the same night (car was parked outside for 2 days while I worked on my old datsun in the garage). Guzman and a few of his buddies steal a lot of hardtops and apparently off load them to Fresno if they can't get a quick sale here.

Also Rick is super shady, advertises wrapped hardtops on craigslist constantly. BUT he doesn't use his companies contact information and even used a fake name with me before. Even see him selling hardtops before on offerup.

I kind of obsessed over this for a couple months in late 2017. I can dig up a lot of probably useless information if you'd like. A lot of the miata guys get hit and obsessed over this. So much so they arranged for a sale and this guy named Eder I think showed up and go arrested. They usually get out quick and then continue steeling them.

I'm pretty sure it's the same guys as we have names and other info as well. Didn't want to post too much info about the theft here because I know they watch the forums. There are distinguishable markings on my hardtop and I'd be able to identify it, so was just hoping someone might eventually alert me to a sale of a black oem hardtop and I'd be able tell if it was mine immediately.

I wonder how many of these thefts and property crimes could be those assholes being "released" from prison for covid19
