wow i'm surprised you didn't get a ticket.. that's a lot of chords
You can get a ticket for that? I didn't know that..
Yep. I believe the minimal required tread depth in CA is 1/32th in. on street tires.

Yeah, I still had at least 3/32 left from the wear bars on my RS3 & I remember a cop mentioned, "Your rear tires seem to be getting low there" - denoting the action of them checking on this.

I got into an argument with a cop that pulled me over when I was on NT01. She keep on telling me that my tires were too low on tread and I kept telling her that she was wrong and that she wasn't measuring at the correct place.

Orlando got a good laugh out of my reaction. I had no idea I'd hit the cords...
I heard that if you were using R-S3's, this wouldn't be a problem .
hahaha

It's weird how the exposed cords are only on that spot as opposed to all the way around the tire.. I probably wore down that part of the tire during one of my spins at Thunderhill.

Maybe 12k? I really pushed it though. I should have replaced these after Thunderhill in April.

I just witnessed a blow out right in front of me earlier this morning on the way to work, 280N - E36 body style Bimmer. His wheel got all jacked up!

Dont know what the cause was; but running tires this worn could lead to the same results - careful out there guys!
