Any north bay owners wanna do a ride this weekend? I'd like to join u guys in the south bay buts its to far and i can't stand drivin thru sf on the weekend. There will be american graffiti day in san rafael in may if any bay area folks wanna check it out and put on a side show of our own!! like gettin to 4th street early and parking on the parade route. show is a gas (no pun intended) with cool cars junk food and live music (usually elvis and roy orbison impersonators)

How can that be too far? San Rafael is only one hour from South San Jose... At the end of the drive, we will be in Belmont, that's about half hour from SR... I hope that amount of driving is not too much for you...

You take 19th Ave and 280, then you should be fine. The last time (in Feb) we did a drive in Marin, I took that route, too. Basically a traffic-free breeze.

u got that wrong its 2 hours 2 san jose unless u want to go crazy thru sf and drive like mad on 280 or 880 or 101 to shave 15 minutes off. 280 would always be my choice. It's 45 to an hour to belmont and 20-30min to sf by car. I've only commuted to sf by motorcycle for about 10 years and i once made it in 15minutes to the toll gate doing 100 almost all way 2 the bridge where they now have a CHP cruiser parked perm at either end of the bridge since 9/11. i've made the trip to san jose many times over the last 25 years as a compter engineer and know my way arround totally and don't do it if i can help it unless i'm headin for monterey or the central coast. So see ya at laguna seca for the superbike races this summer but then i'll be on my bike!
anyway there's gorgeous enough roads right up here with little or no people, cops etc. north of here to avoid the hassle of heading south. u guys have a great time and your always welcome to come up this a way!!

btw american grafiitti day is sat. may 18th

chow 4 now

Yahoo says it is 1 hour and 26 min from SR to SJ without traffic.

Anyway, let's not argue with this. If you want to put together an event, post the details (as much as you can) and see what kind of responses you get. You may also want to post at the Sacramento forum.
